Machine Method

Human ideas. Machine methods.

About

A small lab of curiosities.

Machine Method is where inklings get poked, prodded and occasionally make sense. I follow them to see where they lead: tools, sketches and odd little things, some polished, most still in progress.

Some curiosities grow into something real. Most become lessons. Both get shared here, finished or not.

    Can it move?

How can I make a static logo playful? Layer the shapes, then set them in motion.

    How it's made

Designed in Illustrator, rebuilt as layered SVG, then brought to life in HTML, CSS and JavaScript with Claude as my build partner. I set the direction and made the design calls; AI sped up prototyping and iteration. Animation rewritten as opacity overlays to hold 60fps on iPhone Safari.

    Can it spin?

The mark as a virtual toy. A flick sets it turning.

  • 03 What if…

    Can it play?

Turning the toy into a game: slingshot energy at its parts to give it power.
